My name is Tyler Gray, and I am the President and Founder of TyGr Security. Born and raised around Bangor, I am proud to call this town my home. My passion for serving this community runs deep. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of Bangor’s largest institutions, including Bangor International Airport and Eastern Maine Medical Center, as part of their security teams.

Through that experience, I have worked shoulder to shoulder with some of the most hardworking and dedicated professionals you could ever meet. The men and women I’ve worked with have been nothing short of inspiring: the kind of people who show up no matter the weather, no matter the hour, because they believe in keeping people safe. Serving alongside them and serving our clients has been one of the great honors of my life.

But what I saw behind the scenes troubled me. As the companies have grown to have hundreds of thousands of employees across the country, something important was lost. The people in charge became disconnected from the people actually doing the work. Clients would raise concerns or share feedback with administrators who had never set foot on a post and rarely, if ever, spoke with the officers on the ground. Communication broke down, officers felt unheard, and clients felt like numbers in a spreadsheet instead of valued partners.

I started TyGr Security because I knew there had to be a better way. I wanted to build a company that puts people first, both clients and employees, and never lets them feel left behind. Here, communication is personal. If a client has a concern, they can talk to someone who knows their site and their needs. If an employee has an idea or a problem, I want to hear it directly.

The world is getting more unpredictable. Every year, it feels a little harder to trust that a lock on the front door is enough. True safety comes from presence; from knowing that someone is there to keep watch, to turn the lights on, and to make sure everything is as it should be.
